Dual Battery Charger System for Electric Vehicle

Abstract

This paper presents the dual battery charging system using Arduino control. Nowadays Electric Vehicles are facing more problems due to the increased battery charging time. This paper provides the solution to reduce the charging time by incorporating a dual battery charging system. The proposed dual battery charging system consists of number of cells to form a complete battery. This battery is divided into two parts using switch at the time of charging and then it charges the battery from both sides up to fully charge by using two chargers. The battery automatically disconnects from the charger when it fully get charged i.e. up to the set point and it starts charging when battery has reached a below limit. By using this system, the charging time of the battery reduces to approximately half of the charging time required by normal way. This system displays current, voltage and charging state of battery on display board, which helps in monitoring the battery performance.
