Abstract

A generalised technique for the prediction of load and metal flow in forging and extrusion type operation is presented. The method is based on the upper bound elemental technique and simulates the process in an incremental manner. Details of results obtained for closed die forging, extrusion and simultaneous compound extrusion are given. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
