Observation of Efficacy on 42 Cases of Ulcerative Colitis Treated with Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy on ulcerative colitis(UC)treated with integrative Chinese and western medicine.Methods 55 cases of UC were randomized into control group(13 cases)and treatment group(42 cases).In control group,the cases were treated with simple application of prednisolone and sulfasalazine.In treatment group,the cases were treated with bifido and modified Chinese herbs in accordance with syndrome differentiation.Results The total effective rate was 69.2% in control group and was 85.7% in treatment group,indicating significant difference in comparison(P0.05).Conclusion Integrative Chinese and western medicine has good efficacy on UC and no apparent toxic side effects.Hence,it deserves to be promoted in clinical application.
