Abstract
Plantlets were produced in vitro from root and hypocotyl explants taken from seedlings of the tree legume, Albizzia lebbek. These explants formed shoots when cultured with 5.0 mg l−1 kinetin and 1.0 mg l−1 IAA in MS medium. Shoots were also induced in large numbers from callus treated with benzylaminopurine. About 20 per cent of the shoots rooted and were grown into plants.
