Abstract

Discourse is a complete,natural semantic unit.And cohesion and coherence are the two important principles and characteristics in maintaining the coherence of the whole discourse and its paragraphs. Discourse and translation are close related with each other.Thus,in practical translation,we should make fully consideration of cohesion and coherence as well as the entire discourse,in keeping with the original style of the discourse,to produce fluent version.
