Cohesion and Coherence in Discourse Translation

Cohesion and coherence are important contents in discourse research. With the constant further research of the discourse translation, cohesion and coherence play an important role in it.The difference in the thinking ways and aesthetic traditions between Chinese and Western people leads to their different expressing ways, so individual characteristics exist in their design, cohesion and coherence of discourse. In the translation between English and Chinese, we should consider how to follow the different expressing ways and adopt different ways of realization to make the translated version cohesive and coherent.
