Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of amlodipine and nifedipine in treatment of essential hypertension. Methods 90 patients with essential hypertension treated in our hospital during January 2010-January 2011 were randomly assigned into the amlodipine group and the nifedipine group, with 45 patients in each group, each group were given the appropriate medication, compare their clinical efficacy. Results After treatment, diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure were significantly lower compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05),but the difference between treatment groups was not significant(P0.05);the the effective rate of the amlodipine group after the treatment was 95.6%,significantly higher than that of the nifedipine group 80.0%(P0.05);adverse reactions of the two groups were mild. Conclusion Both amlodipine and nifedipine can equally reduce blood pressure, but the clinical efficacy of amlodipine is better than that of nifedipine, with fewer adverse reactions, which can be widely used in clinical practice.
