Diagnostic value of combined determination of serum leptin,TBA level in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy

Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of serum leptin,total bile acid(TBA) and the maternal complications as well as perinatals during intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP).Methods 91 lying-in women with ICP and 34 normal late pregnant women were enrolled in study.The 91 patients with ICP were divided into mild(n=42),moderate(n=38) and serious group(n=91).Serum leptin was assayed by total bile acid detection kit(5 cycle enzymatic method),and TBA by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The levels of serum leptin and TBA,maternal complications and perinatal morbidity were all remarkably higher in ICP group than those in control group.The differences were statistically significant.The above indice were signicantly higher in severe group than those in mild group and moderate group(P0.05).Conclusion Combined determination of serum leptin and TBA may contribute to early diagnosis and treatment of ICP,pathogenetic condition viewing and prognosis evaluation of maternal complications and perinatals.
