Analysis of Effects of Mifepristone in the treatment of myoma of cervix uteri

Objective To investigate the Effects of Mifepristone in the treatment of myoma of cervix uteri. Methods From January 2001 to March 2003, 82 patients with myoma of cervix uteri were treated by Mifepristone. Oral Mifepristone 25 mg was given once every night from the 5th day of menstruation for 30 days, and then oral Mifepristone 12.5mg was given once ever night from day 31 to 90. Treatment repeated every 3 months. All 82 patients were finished 2 cycles. Results Tumor disappearance were found in 19 patients and tumor shrinkage were found in 50 patients. The total respones rate was 84.1%. The average reduction of tumor volume was 44.9%. There were no tumor increasing. No treatment side effects were found. Conclusions Oral Mifepristone is an effective drug in treating myoma of cervix uteri.
