Effect Observation Mifepristone Treatment for Uterine Myometomy

Objective to observe the clinical effect of myometomy treated with mifepristone.Methods sixty cases,diagnosed as uterine myoma form Jan 2007 to Dec 2010,were divided into 2 groups.The therapy group(n=30)was treated with mifepristone(10mg,po,qd)3 mo before operation and then admitted for operation.The other group(n=30) was control group which wasn't treated with medicine and was admitted after menstrual flow.The volume of uterus myoma was measured before after taking medicine or before operation and specimen of myomectomy in the 2 group.At the same time,the volume of the bleeding in the operation was measured.Results The minification of the volume of uterine myoma in the therapy group was 39.5%.but it was 5.26% in the control group,P0.01.The bleeding amount in the operation was 42±9.5mlin the fomer group,but 98±15.2mlin the latter group.Conclusion Taking mifepristone,as secondary therapy in myomectomy,can minify myoma and decrease bleeding in operation.
