Long-term effect of Mifepristone combined with Xiaojie'an capsule on uterine myoma

【Objective】 To observe the long-term effect of a combination of Mifepristone and Xiaojie'an capsule on uterine myoma.【Methods】 A total of 120 cases of uterine myoma were randomly divided into 2 groups with 60 cases in each group.The patients in Mifepristone group had oral administration of Mifepristone(12.5 mg,po,qd) for 3 consecutive months,while the patients in combination group took both oral Mifepristone(12.5 mg,po,qd) and Xiaojie'an capsule(2 caps,po,tid) for 3 successive months.The volumes of uterus and myoma,and menstrual restoration were compared between both groups during and 3 months after the therapies.【Results】 The clinical symptoms of both groups were significantly ameliorated.Shrinking of myoma more than 25% was taken as effectiveness.The effective rate in Mifepristone group was 73.3%,while that in combination group was 93.3% with a significant difference(P 0.05).Three months after the therapies,menstruation improvement and shrinking of myoma were more obvious in combination group than in Mifepristone group.【Conclusion】 For the treatment of uterine myoma,the therapy of combined Mifepristone and Xiaojie'an capsules is safer and has more prominent long-term effect than usage of Mifepristone alone,and is worth to be popularized in clinic.
