Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of early medicine and mental intervention for depression syndrome and recovery of neurological function in post-stroke depression patients. Methods 80 patients of post-stroke depression were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. Both groups were all received routine treatment and rehabilitation of stroke, and the treatment group was given extra paroxetine and mental intervention. The HAMD-17 and SSS were observed before treatment and at the ends of 2nd,4th,8th week after treatment. Results The HAMD-17 and SSS of the treatment group were better than the control group(P0.01) at the 4th,8th week after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effect and depression syndrome of the comprehensive treatment group were improved significantly(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusions The early combination therapy of mental intervention and paroxetine can significantly improve the level of post-stroke depression, and promote the recovery of neurological function.
