Analysis of the Prescriptions of Psychotropic Substances II in Our Hospital

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the utilization of psychotropic substances Ⅱ in our hospital so as to promote its rational administration. METHODS: Investigation and analysis of 32 553 psychotropic substancesⅡ prescriptions for outpatients and emergency patients which were prescribed from Jan. 2005 to Dec. 2006 in our hospital were conducted using daily defined dose (DDD) and drug utilization index (DUI). RESULTS: Among the 8 kinds of psychotropic substancesⅡ used, the DUI of 7 kinds were less than 1.00 and the DUI of 1 kind was greater than 1.00. CONCLUSION: The utilization of psychotropic substances Ⅱ is basically rational in our hospital, but great importance should be attached to the frequent drug combination.
