Analysis of the prescriptions of psychotropic substances II in our hospital

Abstract

Objective: To study the utilization of psychotropic substances Ⅱ in our hospital so as to promote its rational administration.Methods: A total of 995 psychotropic substances Ⅱ prescriptions collected from January to December 2012 in outpatients and emergency patients of our hospital were analyzed by daily defined dose(DDD) and drug utilization index(DUI).Results: The DUIs of 8 kinds of psychotropic substances Ⅱ used in outpatients and emergency patients were less than 1.00.The proportion of male patients was higher than that of female patients,accounting for 51.36%,mainly in 36 – 50 years of age.The top three psychotropic substances Ⅱ on the list of DDDs were estazolam,diazepam,tartrate zolpidem.Conclusion: Benzodiazepines dominated the most important role among all the psychotropic substances Ⅱ in our hospital.The utilization of psychotropic substances Ⅱ was basically rational in our hospital.
