Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effects of combined therapy of Chinese and Western medicine on diabetic peripheral neuropathy( DPN). Methods 108 DPN patients were randomly divided into two groups. 54 patients in control group received routine western medicine treatment. 54 patients in treatment group received Xuefu Zhuyu decoction on the basis of control group treatment. The course was 30 days in two groups. Efficacy of two groups was compared. The changes of neuropathy total symptoms score( TSS) before and after treatment were observed in two groups. The motor nerve conduction velocity( MNCV) and sensory conduction velocity( SNCV) of median nerve and common peroneal nerve were measured before and after treatment in two groups. Results There were statistical significance between two groups on the total effective rate( P 0. 05). The curative effect in treatment group was better than that in control group. The score of TTS after treatment was decreased in two group as compared with that in before treatment( P 0. 05),the decreased in treatment group was more obvious( P 0. 05). The degree of MNCV after treatment was increased in two groups as compared with that in before treatment( P 0. 05),the increase in treatment group was more obvious( P 0. 05). Conclusion Combined therapy of Chinese and Western medicine on diabetic peripheral neuropathy can increase total curative effect, improve symptom, physical sign and nerve conduction velocity, improve the quality of life.
