Abstract

According to the cultural and staining characteristics, morphology and biochemical test, slide agglutination test and PCR typing of Streptococcus suis,a strain of Streptococcus suis type 2 was isolated from samples of sick and dead pig.Animal pathogenicity test demonstrated that 2×108 doses could be lethal to mice, muramidase released protein(MRP),extracellular factor(EF) and hemolysin(sly) were all positive according to PCR detection,it provided a candidate strain for oneself inactivated vaccine preparation.
