Abstract

Objective To test the susceptibilities of Candida species to flucytosine, amphotericin B,fluconazole, itraconazole, and voriconazole in-vitro for understanding the resistant trend of deep fungi to antibiotics. Methods Sobaurand's agar culture medium was used for separating fungi.Candida species expression plate was employed for identifing fungi and 161 isolates of Candida were tested for their minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)to five antifungal agents by using ATB FUNGUS3 strips. Results The Candida albicans performed a high sensitivity for antifungal. The resistant rate to antifungal was lower than 5.4%,except for itraconazole(10.8%).The drug resistance of C.Krusei was the highest;it was more than 33.3% for fluconazole and itraconazole. Conclusions Different Candida species display different resistance to common antifungal drugs. The resistance of Candida albicans to antifungal drugs is lower than that of non-Cndida albicans. Therefore the isolation and the antifungal sensitivity tests are very important for instructing clinical doctors to select the reasonable antifungal.
