Expression and significance of CD147 and MMP-2 in oral squamous cell carcinoma

Objective:To evaluate the expression of CD147 and MMP-2 in oral squamous cell carcinoma,(OSCC).Methods:The expression of CD147 and MMP-2 was detected by immunohistochemical method(SP) in 35 cases of OSCC.The relationship between the expression and clinical histopathological parameters was analyzed.Results: The expression rates of CD147 and MMP-2 in OSCC tissues were 65.71% and 68.57%,respectively.The expression of CD147 and MMP-2 was correlated with tumor histopathological type,clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but showed no correlation with patients' age,gender and tumor location(P0.05);The expression levels of CD147 and MMP-2 were significantly higher in the metastatic groups compared with control group(P0.05).There was a significant correlation between the CD147 expression and the MMP-2 expression(P0.05).Conclusion: The expression of CD147 and MMP-2 play an important role in OSCC.The detection of their expression may be useful to clinical and pathological study and metastasis predicting of OSCC,providing new therapeutic target of malignancy.
