Study on the correlation between metalloproteinase-2 and neck lymph node metastasis of oral squamous cell carinoma

Objective To detect the correlation between metalloproteinase 2 (MMP 2) and neck lymph node matastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC). Methods Immunohistochemistry tenichique(SABC) and zemography were used to study the expression and activities of MMP 2 in OSCC?normal oral musoca member and plasma,and statistical method was used to analyse the association between the expression and activities of MMP 2 matrix metalloproteinases and the invasive and metastatic clinical and pathological index of OSCC. Results The results showed that MMP 2 existed in all the OSCC tumor tissues and normal oral mucosa member, and that the increase of the expression and activities of MMP 2in the OSCC tumor tissue and plasma,and related to tumor invasion and neck lymph node metastasis. Conclusion MMP 2 could be considered as an index judging preasence of neck lymph node metastasis of OSCC.
