Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of IFN-γ on skin trauma healing. Methods: Acute wound healing model was prepared by removing the whole layer dorsal skin for 40 male mice. The mice were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group was given intramuscular IFN-γ at a dose of 1 MU daily for 14 days and was not treated in the control group to observe healing situation in two groups. Results: In experimental group, wound healing time was 14~20 d,average(16.08±1.73)d,compared to the control group(10~15)d,average(12.75±1.54)d.There were statistically significant differences(P0.05).After two weeks, there was one well-healed in the experimental group while there were 18 in the control group,so the latter was significantly more than former. Conclusion: The study shows that IFN-γ plays an opposite role in the traumatic wound healing.
