Abstract
Chunqiubifa and taishigongbifa are all interpretative approaches to historical books.The similarity between the two is that they both offered commendatory and pejorative comments on historical figures and both followed the writing principles of being orderly and substantial in speech.The difference between the two lies inchunqiubifa being actually the interpretation of the Spring and Autumn Periods by the Confucians,withtaishigongbifa being the record-making spirit of Sima Qian.
