Abstract
Using TiSiW_(12)O_(40)/TiO_2 as a environmentally friendly catalyst ,the synthesis of iso-amyl propionate has been studied. Research results indicate that TiSiW_(12)O_(40)/TiO_2 possesses fairly high catalytic activity for the esterification reaction. The factors influencing the synthetic reaction are discussed and the best reaction conditions are as follows:molecular ratio of iso-amyl alcohol to propionic acid is 1.3∶1;the quantity of the catalyst is 2.0% of the total amount of the reactants; the reaction temperature is within 95~110℃ and the reaction time is 1.0h. Results show that TiSiW_(12)O_(40)/TiO_2 is an excellent catalyst for synthesizing iso-amyl propionate and the yield of iso-amyl propionate can reach to 76.2%.
