Abstract

Through examining peculiar understanding of water in Shen Congwen' s The Western Hunan and Random Notes on Journey to Hunan , paper discovers that soft outward and hard inward and kind to everything without scramble are not only Shen Congwen' s attitudes towards life, but also his artistic style in constructing the World of Western Hunan.
