Ultrasonic Imaging Study on Heat Injury of HIFU Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the role of ultrasound in the HIFU treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.Method:15 cases of advanced pancreatic carcinoma were treated by FEP-BY 02 pyrotherapier (HIFU).The signal changes of ultrasonic echo and blood flow were used to determine the heat injury of mass.Result:After HIFU,ultrasonic echo of carcinoma tissue was enhanced in most patients and the bloodstream decreased or disappeared at different levels.There were no complications such as skin burns,pancreatic fistula, bleeding,pancreatitis and perforation during the process.Conclusion:Ultrasound can be used as an imaging means to evaluate the degree of heat injury in HIFU treatment of pancreatic cancer.
