Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in etiologic diagnosis of atelectasis. Methods Fiberoptic bronchoscopy was taken on 128 cases with atelectasis. Results The final causes of atelectasis were lung cancer in 65 cases(50.8%),inflammation in 40 cases(31.2%),pulmonary tuberculosis in 21 cases(16.4%),and foreign body in the bronchus in 2 cases(1.6%).No severe complications occurred. Conclusion Fiberoptic bronchoscopy is safe with higher etiologic diagnosis for atelectasis.
