Abstract

【Objective】To explore the value of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in diagnosis the cause of atelectasis and treating of atelectasis due to inflammation. 【Methods】75 patients with atelectasis were examined using by fiberoptic bronchoscopy for exploring the reasons. To compare the effect of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in treating 20 patients due to inflammations with 25 patients who were only treated with anti-infections as the control group.【Results】Among 75 patients with atelectasis, etiologic causes were lung cancer (54.66%),inflammation (26.66%),tuberculosis (10.66%),foreign body (6.66%) and lithiasis (1.33%). 20 atelectasis due to inflammation who were treated by fiberoptic bronchoscopy were improved significantly in clinical symptoms compared to the control groups. 【Conclusions】Fiberoptic bronchoscopy is important in the diagnosis of atelectasis, and it is also valuable in treating atelectasis due to inflammation.
