Abstract
Knowledge-based training mode has increasingly been called into question in cultivating talents needed by society.The idea is attracting more and more concern and gaining recognization gradually by the professional education.Improving students'competence has become a starting point and ending point in vocational education.Competence is the basis of building vocational education curriculum and teaching theory.With a view to this,the paper conducts a review on the concept of professional competence,the classification of professional competence,the formation and training model of professional competence,in the hope of providing a foundation for further research on the development of vocational education curriculum based on competence.
