Abstract

Objective:To study the relations between the expression of P16 and the genesis of gastric carcinoma and the clinicopathological characteristics of gastric carcinoma, and to investigate the clinicopathological significance of detection P16 on diagnosis of gastric carcinoma, degree of malignant, prognostic appreciation and clinical treatment. Methods:Expressions of P16 were examined by S-P immunohistochemical staining in 20 cases of normal gastric mucosas and 100 cases of gastric carcinoma. Results:The positive rate of P16 expression in gastric carcinoma was 36.0%,lower than that in nomal gastric mucosas(85.0%)( P 0.01);it is related to the differentiation, invasion, metastasis by lymphatics, and staging of TNM(P 0.05),but has nothing to do with sex, age, and situs of affection(P0.05).Conclusions:The detection of P16 is highly valued to diagnose gastric carcinoma and to evaluate the degree of malignant, prognostic appreciation and clinical treatment on gastric carcinoma.
