Abstract
Objective To understand the advantages and affective factors of nerve conduction velocity(NCV) in the diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods A combination of biochemical test and electrocardiogram detection were applied to 112 diabetic patients to make a comparison between the motor nerve conduction velocity(MCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity(SCV) of electrocardiogram detection and homologous clinical symptom and physical signs.Results The abnormal NCV rate was 69.60%;the conformance of MCV,SCV to clinical symptom was 70.89%,60.83%,and 62.52%(the former was SCV of upperlimb,and the latter was that of lowerlimb).The abnormal NCV rate of typeⅠdiabetic patients was 75.00%,higher than 68.75% of typeⅡdiabetic patients(P0.001).Conclusion If the disease progress and blood sugar level of the patients can not be effectively controlled,it would have unfavorable impact on the DPN of diabetic patients.
