Abstract
Which is better,Tang poetry,or Song poetry? It's been discussed long. Generally speaking,Tang poetry was unrivalled and eternal,but Song poetry was also another peak after Tang poetry. The status and influence of Song poetry greatly exceed the poems in Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasty. Song poems surpass Song Ci far hugely regardless of the writers or quantity of the works. If we compare Tang poetry with Song poetry,we will find,due to different era and social background,each has its features. In aesthetic categories,Tang poetry is vigorous and firm,and Song poetry is gentle and beautiful. In artistic style,Tang poetry is majestic,and Song poetry is graceful and restrained.
