On the Relationship between the Socialist Road with Chinese Characteristics and the Soviet Model

The opening and developing the socialist road with Chinese characteristics is based on the accurate grasp of problems with the Soviet model. The first generation of central collective leadership with Mao Zedong as the core has scientifically analyzed and treated the Soviet model, conducted a preliminary exploration of the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. After the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, the second generation of central collective leadership with Deng Xiaoping as the core has overcome the difficulties of the Soviet model under the new historical conditions and opened up the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. After the Eastern European upheaval and the collapse of the USSR, the Soviet model, while no longer exists, is still considered a warning,that is,we should still adhere to the socialist road with Chinese characteristics. We should not take the old, rigid and closed path. We should not go astray to change the flag.
