Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the flavonoid constituents of Loropetalum chinense. METHODS: The flavonoid constituents were isolated and purified from ethanol extract of L. chinense by the column chromatography of D101 macroporous resin coupled with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and RP-ODS column chromatography. Their chemical structures of compound were elucidated by NMR, UV and ESI-MS spectral analysis. RESULTS: Five flavonoid constituents were isolated and identified as kaempferol (1), quercetin(2),myricetin(3),myricetin-3-O-α-L-rhamn-oside (4), isoquercetin (5). All of the flavonoid compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time. CONCLUSION: The results provide the scientific basis for further exploitation of L. chinense.
