Abstract

Objective To study the chemical constituents of Loropetalum chinense. Methods The chemical constituents were separated and purified by macroporous resin,RP-C18,Sephadex LH-20 and silica gel column chromatography. All the compounds were identified by physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis. Results Eleven compounds were isolated from L. chinense and identified as 3-O-p-coumaroylquinic acid( 1),methyl5-O-p-coumaroylquinic acid( 2),methyl chlorogenate( 3),methyl gallate( 4),p-hydroxy-benzoic acid( 5),quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside( 6),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside( 7),myricetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside( 8),quercetin-3-O-( 6''-O-galloyl-β-D-glucopyranoside)( 9),quercetin( 10) and myricetin( 11). Conclusion Compounds 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 9 were isolated from this genus for the first time.
