Abstract
Aim:To investigate the effects of lysophosphatidyloholine(LPC) on proliferation and apoptosis of HUVECs.Methods:HUVECs were treated with different concertrations of LPC (5, 10 and 20 mg/L)for 6 h, 12 h, 24 h,48 h,respectively. Proliferation and apoptosis of HUVECs were assessed by MTT assay, flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy,respectively.HUVECs cultured without LPC were the control.Results: Compared with the control group, LPC could inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of HUVECs in a dose-dependent way.Conclusion: LPC could inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of HUVECs, which may be one of mechanisms responsible for LPC to lead to atherosclerosis.
