Abstract

【Objective】 To explore the clinical effect of cataract phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in elderly patients.【Methods】 Cataract phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation was operated on 78 cases(86 eyes) with patients aging over 80.The postoperative complications and visual acuity was analyzed.【Results】 78 cases(86 eyes) advanced aged patients were all feeling well after operation. One week after operation, the postoperation vision were ≥0.3 in 72 eyes(84%),≥0.5 were 56 eyes(65%) and no severe local and systemic complications.【Conclusion】 Phacoemulsification cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation has the advantages of shorter process and faster visual recovery after operation. It is a safe, effective and feasible surgery approach.
