Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of supplementing qi and nourishing yin in treatment of melanosis coli. Methods Twenty six patients with melanosis coli in our hospital from October 2009 to December 2011 were selected and divided into two groups randomly, thirteen patients used macrogol powder (flushing oral, 10 g/time, 2 times /d, course of 4 weeks) in treatment as control group, thirteen patients used supplementing qi and nourishing yin decoction (decoction oral, 1 agent/d, 2 times/d, course of 4 weeks) in the treatment as observation group. Improvement of symptom and colonoscopy were compared between two groups after the treatment. Results After treatment, the clinical total effective rate in observation group (100%) was significantly higher than that of control group (69.2%). The total efficiency of clinical curative effect under colonoscopy in observation group (100%) was significantly higher than that in control group (61.5%). The difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion Supplementing qi and nourishing yin in treatment of melanosis coli has clinical curative effect, which can promote intestinal motility and significantly improve the patient's clinical symptoms. It is worth for clinical use.
