Abstract
Objective To investigate clinical efficacy of somatostatin in adhesive intestinal obstruction .Methods42 patients suffering form adhesive intestinal obstruction were divided into experimental group( 22 patients) and control group( 20 patients) . Patients in the control group were treated with traditional therapy including effective gastroenteral decompression ,intravenous fluids to correct electrolyte imbalance, parenteral nutritional support ,antibiotics and bowel lavage. Patients in the experimental group were treated with traditional therapy plus somatostatin therapy. The outcomes of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with efficiency rate ( 80.0%) of the control group, the experimental group has better efficiency rate( 90. 9%) ( P 0.05) . The average volume of gastroenteral decompression, hospital stay time and Improvement of clinical symptoms time in the experimental group was lower than that in the the control group( P 0. 05) . Conclusion In traditional therapy plus somatostatin cure adhesive intestinal obstruction can significantly improve the clinical symptoms ,reduce surgical laparotomy rate ,and as soon as possible to restore bowel function.
