Abstract

Objective To survey the therapeutic effect of Radiofrequency thermocoagulation for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, further expound methods and indication of Radiofrequency thermocoagulation in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Methods To puncture the skin, the needle reaches the root of trigeminal nerve through ovale foramen and link up with instrument of Radiofrequency thermocoagulation and his accessorial electrode, to heat temperature of anode to 80 85°C under control, and damage to interrelating sensory nerve of trigeminal nerve. Results The total effective rate was 98.59%. The ineffective rate was 1.40%. The recurrence rate was 12.07%.Conclusion Radiofrequency thermocoagulation for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is safe, wide indication, markedly effective, the method showed that it is particularly safe to the patients with angiocardiopathy.
