Abstract
hypertensive patients were randomly divided into 3 groups, i.e. the control group, the drug-treated group and the exercise group. All of the three groups underwent a 6-month-term experimental observation. After 2 months, a modest reduction in blood pressure was observed in the exercise group, and a significant decrease in BP appeared after 3-month exercise. The SBP and the DBP were declined from 159±16 and 95±9 mmHg to 148±13 and 85±7mmHg respectively. Moreover, the effectiveness of exercise and pharmacological therapy for reducing blood pressure did not show any significant difference.Therefore this study shows that the exercise is a non-pharmacological therapy in hypertension.
