Hand washing investigation of the cleaners in the hospital

Objective To investigate the bacterial contamination of the hand and the hand washing effect. Methods Fifty cleaners were examed by the questionnaires, the hand washing effect was examined before and after hand washing. Results The bacterial contamination of cleaners' hands was very severe, the average bacterial colony forming unit was 173 CFU/cm2( between 12 - 1 560 CFU/cm2). Those who were trained for the correct hand washing methods had significantly higher qualified rate than those who were not trained. Conclusion The hand washing knowledge, hand washing technique and effect should be intensively surveyed for the hand washing of the cleaners.
