Evaluation of hand-sterilizing effect with hand disinfectant and hand washing sanitizer among doctors and nurses

Objective To compare the sterilizing effects of the hands with quick hand disinfectant and hand sanitizer among medical workers and nurses.Methods A hundred medical personnel selected were randomly divided into quick hand disinfection group and hand sanitizer group,each consisted of 50 cases.The total number of bacteria were detected.were observed in the two groups before and after washing hands.Results The numbers of bacteria on the hands of both groups were significantly reduced after washing and steriliztion(≥ 50cfu/cm2),(t=54.97,P0.01;t=52.78,P0.01).The difference of bacterial colony and qualification rates in both groups after sterilizing and washing hands were all significantly(t=9.33,P 0.01,χ2=8.90,P0.01) The quantity of bacteria after sterilization and hand washing were significantly reduced(below(50cfu/ cm2,t=38.98,P0.01;t=36.53,P0.01),while no significant difference in the number of bacterial colony and qualification rates was observed in both groups after washing hand with sanitizer(P0.05)。.Conclusion The sterilization of methods of hand sterilization and hand sanitizere were all good,but the effect of hand sterilization was apparently better.
