Abstract
Objective To investigate the protein expression level of breast cancer metastasis suppressor 1(BRMS1)in papillary thyroid carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemistry SP method was used to detect the expressions of BRMS1 protein in 200 tissue samples, including 50 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma,50 cases of thyroid adenoma,50 cases of para-carcinoma tissues and 50 cases of cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma.ResultsThe expression of BRMS1 in normal para-carcinoma tissues(98%)and in thyroid adenoma tissues(96%)was statistically significantly higher than that in papillary thyroid carcinoma(40%)and in cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma(10%)(P0.05 for each). Conclusion The decreased expressions of BRMS1 proteins were significant in papillary thyroid carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma, and it was more significant in cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma. The decrease of BRMS1 protein expression may be related to the development and metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
