Effect of amlodipine besylate on IMT of carotid and LVMI in patient with hypertension

Abstract

Objective To observe the effect amlodipine besylate on IMT of carotid and LVMI in patient with hypertension.Methods 80 cases of hypertension were divided into two groups.Patients in treatment group were treated by amlodipine besylate,2.5~5 mg,once a day.Patients in control group were treated by Nifedipine Tablets,10~20 mg,twice a day.The course was six months in two groups.IMT of carotid and LVMI in patient were measured by color Doppler before and after treatment.Results There was significant difference between before and after treatment in two groups on blood pressure(P0.05).But there was no difference between two groups after treatment(P0.05).There was significant difference between before and after treatment in treatment group on IMT of carotid and LVMI(P0.05).There was on difference between before and after treatment in control group on IMT of carotid and LVMI(P0.05).Conclusion Amlodipine besylate can effectively decrease blood pressure,increase of IMT of carotid and LVMI in patient with hypertension.
