Abstract

Objective To explore the expression and the clinicopathological significance of c-Met protein in breast cancer. Methods A total of 150 cases with paraffin-embedded specimens of breast cancer were selected from October 2011 to October 2012 period in our hospital,we detected the expression of the c-Met protein with immunohistochem ical methods, and analyzed their age, tumor size, histological grade, lymph node metastasis, the relationship between the TNM staging with statistical analysis software SPSS17.0.Results The expression of c-Met-positive were 62(41.33%)cases,and the expression of c-Met-negative were 88(58.67%)cases.C-Met was negative expression in normal breast tissue.Lymph node metastasis in patients with positive expression rate was significantly higher than that without lymph node metastasis, and TNM staging, the positive expression rate was significantly higher than the group Ⅲ-Ⅳ,Ⅰ-Ⅱ group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that breast cancer developing c-Met was not an independent prognostic factor. Conclusion The differential expression of the cMet protein in breast cancer has significantly enhanced its expression, suggesting that c-Met in the incidence of breast cancer and invasion, metastasis, lymph nodes appear after the transfer, and patients with a higher TNM stage onwardsa very important role.
