Clinical Observation of Classical Prescription with Western Medicine on Vertigo du to Vertebrobasilar Artery Insufficiency

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of integration of Chinese and Western medicine on vertigo due to vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency.Methods:84 cases with vertigo due to vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency were randomly divided into two groups.There were 42 patients in every group.The contrast group accepted flunarizine hydrochloride capsules 5 mg and ligustrazine 30 mg per day.The treatment group accepted traditional medicine by syndrom differentiation based on control group.The whole duration of treatment was 2 weeks.Results:In the treatment group,28 cases were apparently effective,11 cases effective,3 cases not effective.The total effective rate of treatment group was 92.8%.In the contrast group,4 cases were apparently effective,18 cases effective,10 cases not effective.The total effective rate of contrast group was 76.19%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion: The effect of integration of Chinese and Western medicine on vertigo due to vertebrobasilar insufficiency is superior to that of western medicine.
