Abstract
To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in colorectal cancer and its relation to the oncogenesis and progression.DAKO EnVision System immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression of VEGF in 62 cases with colorectal carcinoma.The positive rate of VEGF in colorectal cancer (51.6%)was significantly higher than that in adjacent noncancerous tissue (P0.01)and positively correlated to Dukes′ staging.The expression of VEGF in tumor tissue with positive_node was much higher than that with negative_node (P0.05).[Conclusion]VEGF plays a key role in the progression and metastasis in colorectal carcinoma.It can help to judge the prognosis.
