Abstract
To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in colorectal neoplasm and its clinical significance. Methods The expression of VEGF in 59 patients with colorectal cancer and 16 patients with adenomas and 12 normal subjects were investigated using immunohistochemical staining. Results The positive rates of VEGF in colorectal cancer were significantly higher than that of adenomas (P0.01);VEGF expression in colorectal cancer was significantly correlated with lymph node or liver metastasis (P0.05).Conclusions Over-expression of VEGF in colorectal neoplasm was likely to show carcinomatous change and an increased character of metastasis.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
