Abstract

To investigate the relation between polymorphism of Esophageal Cancer Related Gene(ECRG2)STR and susceptibility in Xinjiang's esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC).Methods:A case-control study was conducted with 84 case of esophageal cancer and 53 population based controls in high incidence area of ESCC of xinjiang.ECRG2 genotypes were detected by PCR-SSCP method.Result:The frequencies of ECRG2 STR genotypes,TCA3/TCA3,TCA4/TCA4,TCA3/TCA4 were 67.9%、7.1%、25.0% in metastasis esophageal cancer, and 14.3%、44.6%、41.1% in cases who have no metastasis respectively, statistical difference between them was found(χ~2=26.18,P0.01).The frequencies of ECRG2 STR genotypes TCA3/TCA3,TCA4/TCA4,TCA3/TCA4 were32.1%、32.1%、35.8% in esophageal cancer, and 15.1%、49.1%、35.8%in control respectively, statistical difference between them was found(χ~2=6.100,P=0.047) Conclusion: Subjects who carried the TCA3/TCA3 genotype were an increased risk of ESCC and metastasis compared to those carring the TCA4/TCA4 genotype.
