Abstract
Objective:To observe the change of serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),nitric oxide(NO) and endothelin(ET) levels in patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy(T2DN),and evaluate its clinical significance. Methods: The level of TNF-α was measured by ELISA in 91 patients with T2DN.The levels of NO and ET were detected by nitrate reduction test and radioactivity immunoassay. Results: The levels of TNF-α and ET in patients with T2DN were markedly higher than those of the normal group(P0.01),but the level of NO was lower than those of normal group(P0.01).There was a positive correlation between TNF-α and ET in patients with overt diabetic nephropathy. There was a negative correlation between TNF-α and NO,ET and NO in those patients. Conclusion: TNF-α,NO and ET are involved in the process of T2DN and closely related to the disease activity.Detection of TNF-α,NO and ET levels may be helpful to observe the activity of the disease and the clinical curative effects of drugs
