Abstract
Objective To assess the role of computed tomography (CT) findings of solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) in the chest. Methods CT findings in 6 patients with 7 thoracic SFTs confirmed by histopathology were reviewed retrospectively. Results The SFT was identified in the 1 lesion lung parenchyma in 1 case, in the mediastinum in 1 patient, and in the pleura in 4 cases with 2 SFTs found in 1 case. SFTs showed heterogeneously geographic marked enhancement. Vessels were seen in 5 large SFTs. Conclusions Most SFTs showed characteristic CT findings, which could contribute to the diagnosis of SFT.
